Your mission:

To build, manage, and innovate scalable operational automation systems using AI tools, scripts, and advanced data logic. You write real code and you use AI - tools like Claude Code, Codex, and VS Code - as daily development partners that make you faster and more capable than a traditional developer working alone. Your core mission is to enhance efficiency, clarity, and business productivity through technology, integrating AI and automation into existing platforms and building entirely new workflows to solve complex business problems.

You will also play a key role in supporting the development of the Jucebox AI Platform Stack. Jucebox's AI platform stack consists of RETA (advisor copilot in active Beta with a small group of VRPs), JUGO (internal command center in MVP development), and SuperCoach (a shared coaching intelligence module accessible inside both). All three rest on a common Supabase foundation. You will learn the existing architecture across the stack, build on it, and help advance it - with PostgreSQL schema design, Row-Level Security, Anthropic Claude integrations, and custom-coded workflow orchestration as the daily craft.

These AI tools seek to empower Virtual Retirement Professionals (VRPs) with compliant advice, data‑driven coaching, and task automation.

You are responsible for the continuous optimization of systems by leveraging structured data, business logic, and emerging automation technologies.

Who You Are:

You're a developer who also happens to be ahead of the curve on AI. You write code and you understand it. When you hit a technical wall, you open Claude or Codex and work through it - and you know the difference between AI output that's solid and output that needs fixing. You've probably built things that surprised people: automations, integrations, AI-powered tools. Not because you had a big team, but because you knew how to use the tools available to you and moved fast.

You don't need a formal CS degree - but you do need to know what you're doing. The combination of real technical skill and AI-augmented speed is what this role is built around.

You're at home in PostgreSQL, not just SQL but the architecture: schemas, migrations, Row-Level Security policies. You think of the database as the moat and the LLM as the reasoning layer on top. When something breaks in production, you can trace a bug from an API error through to a missing RLS policy and ship the migration to fix it. You think in skills + model-reasoning fallback (Claude Code's harness pattern) rather than building chatbots from scratch.

Real Developer + AI-Augmented Builder - You write real code and can navigate a codebase you didn't build. You also use AI development tools (Claude Code, Codex, VS Code) every day as a core part of how you work - to build faster, debug smarter, and ship more. You don't need a CS degree, but you do need the technical depth to own complex systems and the AI fluency to move at a pace traditional developers can't match.

Database-First Builder - Comfortable in PostgreSQL: writes migrations, designs schemas, debugs Row-Level Security policies. Understands that data architecture (not the model) is the moat. Reads SQL fluently and can trace a permission bug from API error to RLS policy to query plan. Considers multiple stakeholders (RETA + JUGO) and an agentic future (AI-friendly data shapes) in every schema decision.

Harness Builder Mindset - Familiar with the architectural pattern of structured skills + model reasoning fallback (Claude Code's harness pattern). When designing a feature, asks "what's the structured skill, and what's the model fallback?" rather than "how do I write a chatbot?" Comfortable reducing prompt scaffolding so the platform evolves alongside model improvements.

Requirements:

TypeScript/Next.js + PostgreSQL, including Row-Level Security policy design and schema migrations. Multi-stakeholder + agentic-future considerations baked into every schema decision.

Anthropic Claude API and structured prompt engineering, for extraction with confidence + receipts, agentic tools, and batch orchestration (Opus planner + Sonnet sub-agents)

Custom-coded workflow orchestration in TypeScript, replacing Zapier/n8n with direct integrations and Vercel cron jobs

Strong development ability: can read, understand, and improve an existing codebase built by someone else

AI development tools: Claude Code, Codex, VS Code, used as a daily building methodology, not just for reference

Advanced proficiency in Google Workspace, particularly with Google Sheets (complex formulas, pivot tables) and Google Apps Script for custom automations and API integrations.

Hands-on experience with AI development, including leveraging OpenAI APIs, building and maintaining RAG systems with vector stores (pgvector, Pinecone), and managing data pipelines with BigQuery.

Strong ability to work with APIs, webhooks, and data formats like JSON to create robust and scalable system integrations.

A resourceful and self-directed problem-solver with an optimization-focused mindset, constantly seeking to improve processes and build more efficient systems.

Meticulous attention to detail with a solid understanding of data hygiene, system reliability, error handling, and data privacy/compliance guardrails (PII).

Excellent communicator and collaborator, capable of working with product, ops, and data teams and translating complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
