To lead end‑to‑end finance for Jucebox (JB) and Jucebox Partners (JBP) covering payroll, annuity commissions, Stripe‑based services billing and collections, cash forecasting, monthly close, and risk controls, while building deep business specialization and coaching the finance/data team (Finance Coordinator, Billing Specialist, Data Analyst, Data Strategist) to deliver accurate, on‑time financials, transparent payouts, and Business Unit (BU)‑level insights that power faster, data‑driven decisions and scalable growth.
This role is designed to achieve specific, measurable results across financial operations, strategy, and team leadership for two distinct business units: Jucebox Partners (JBP), an insurance marketing organization, and Jucebox (JB), a digital services and training firm.
Develop Comprehensive Business Knowledge & Specialization
Manage Commission Payouts (JBP) & Services Billing (JB) for Accuracy, Transparency & Timeliness
Oversee Payroll & Jucebox Sales/Team Commissions (Governance, Accuracy & Compliance)
Own an Accurate, On-Time Monthly Close
Oversee Cash Management & Provide Working Capital Visibility
Provide Scalable Reporting & Decision Support
Oversee Controls, Compliance & Risk Management
Provide Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
To succeed, the Finance Manager must demonstrate a blend of technical expertise, process orientation, and strong leadership values.
Data-Driven Accountability: Owns the accuracy and timeliness of financial data. Sets clear targets, meticulously inspects KPIs, and rapidly investigates and resolves variances.
Efficiency Driver: Possesses a deep-seated drive to simplify, automate, and scale. Actively works to reduce manual reconciliations, shorten cycle times, and build clean, repeatable processes and SOPs.
Hungry Learner: Demonstrates the ability to quickly master the nuances of different business models (IMO commissions vs. digital services) and become a power user of the tech stack (QBO, Bill.com, Stripe, etc.).
Superior Communication: Excels at translating complex financial data and cash flow narratives for non-finance stakeholders. Writes clear, concise documentation and fosters transparent communication.
Client‑Focused Service: Balances the need for speed, accuracy, and clarity in all outputs, from agent commission statements to client invoices, always anticipating stakeholder needs.
Always Resourceful: A natural problem-solver who can unblock challenges related to systems, data, or processes by proposing practical, well-reasoned solutions.
Make it Fun: Brings positive, constructive energy to the team. Celebrates successes and makes finance approachable and collaborative.
Team Leadership: Direct management responsibility of a Finance Coordinator, Accounts Receivable/Billing Specialist, Data Analyst, and Data Strategist. This includes coaching, setting SLAs, and driving performance.
Core Tech Stack: Hands-on proficiency is required with QuickBooks Online (QBO), Bill.com, Stripe (invoicing, payouts, disputes), Google Sheets/Workspace, and CRM systems.
Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and partners closely with a fractional CFO and an external accounting firm.
Location & Time: This is a full-time, remote role operating on the U.S. Central Time Zone. Heightened availability is expected during critical periods like month-end close.
Compensation: The position is hourly, with time tracked via Hubstaff and paid on a bi-weekly schedule.
Travel: Minimal travel is required, limited to 1–2 trips per year within the U.S. for team events.
